FAQs
-
Each lap is 6.66km (😈). You have 1 hour to complete the lap, no matter your pace. If you finish early, you can rest until the next hour starts.
-
Each participant gets a wristband during the pre-race briefing.
Once you decide you’re done, we’ll snip your wristband — and your official challenge is over. But you’re welcome to hang out, cheer others on, or even head back out on the loop unofficially (we just won’t count your laps after that).
-
If you’re not on the start line at the top of the next hour, you’re out.
Timing is everything — the clock waits for no one.
Please refer to the rules for more information.
-
This event is fully self-supported. We’ll do our best to help if something comes up, but ultimately your safety and wellbeing are your own responsibility. Plan ahead, bring what you need, and be smart about listening to your body.
-
As long as it takes. The event only ends when the final runner decides they are done.
No finish line. The last person standing sets the bar.
-
Yes. However long it takes you to complete the loop determines how much time you have to rest, refuel, stretch, or nap. Time management becomes part of the strategy.
During the run, you can of course fuel yourself.
-
Not at all. You just need to finish the loop (and be back on the starting line) within the hour.
It's about consistency and endurance, not speed. Walk, jog, shuffle — whatever keeps you going.
-
Yes! Runners can bring crew for food, moral support, gear, or strategy. We’ll have a designated home base near the start/finish.
-
Treat it like a long ultra. Bring whatever helps you keep going: hydration, fuel, layers, headlamp (if running into the night), and rest gear.
We give some suggestions of what to bring in the Athletes Guide (available to download after you register).
-
Nope! Backyard ultras are one of the most accessible endurance formats. You only run one loop at a time. You can stop whenever you like. Whether you’re going for 6.66km or 66km — you’re part of the event. This is a personal challenge, not a traditional race.
-
Yes! We’ll be setting up a WhatsApp group before the event — for participants and volunteers to share tips, questions, gear ideas, and encouragement. You’ll get the link once you register.

Friendly. Gritty. Zero ego.
We’re here to challenge ourselves, support each other, and have fun doing something a bit ridiculous. You’ll find first-timers and experienced runners side by side, cheering each other on.
